On the roads of the famous “Eroica”

In order to make your holidays unforgettable, and in order to give you a touch of “adventure”, we offer the possibility to rent excellent e-bikes with which you can visit the most evocative places in the Chianti area and have the opportunity to travel the white roads of the famous “Eroica”. There are so many things to do and places to see that it is advisable to have at least 3 outings in order to enjoy both the beauty of the landscape and the tasting of wine and local products in the various farm restaurants along the road. If you love cycling, you can not miss the opportunity to take a tour in the Chianti hills, combining a beautiful panoramic route with an enogastronomic journey.
With each bicycle, a helmet, a puncture kit (inner tube, tire levers, pump), padlock, and “Flat” pedals are included. The rental period starts from 9 am to 7 pm on the same day. It is advisable to communicate it the day before so that you can choose the most suitable bicycle size based on your height. It is highly recommended to wear appropriate sports clothing, with sunglasses and gloves. The route can be decided by the customer, taking into account their physical preparation and the autonomy of the bicycles depending on whether the electric aid is used.
Our bicycles have a Yamaha Motor and a 400W Battery, they allow a maximum speed of 25 Km/h and a range of 90 Km in mode Eco Plus, 70 Km in mode Eco, 50 Km in mode Normal, 30 Km in mode High. The autonomy depends on many factors such as the level of assistance, your weight, frequency and pedaling force (maximum efficiency around 70/80 pedaling-minute), and external temperature.
We recommend that you complete the first half of the trip trying to save as much battery as possible so that you can enjoy the electrical aid during the second half.

Tuscany Dinner
Every evening you can taste a pleasant dinner in your house. Food will be served from our farm and prepared according to the traditions of Tuscan cuisine.
Our dinners are prepared by professional chefs.
The dinner menu is chosen the day before based on the products available and on the basis of the taste of the guests.
The dinner could include an appetizer consisting of vegetables from our garden seasoned with vinegar and olive oil, cheeses with local honey, salami, and a vegetable omelet with fresh eggs.
As a first course, we recommend a tasty plate of spaghetti with fresh vegetable sauce or the famous meat sauce.
As a second course, Florentine steak, rostinciane, and grilled sausages with local vegetables that garnish the dish can also be served a glass of “Chianti” wine. Bread and sparkling or natural water are included in the price.
For additional wine, each bottle is 20 euro for CHIANTI, 20 euro for ROSSO DI MONTALCINO and 40 euro for BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO
We have no food suitable for coeliacs, our food may contain allergens because it is untreated and unselected.
The presence at the dinner must be made at least 24 h before.

PREPARE ITALIAN FOOD
The Cooking Class
At the Podere La Specola, you have the wonderful opportunity to have a cooking class to learn some of the typical recipes of the Mediterranea-Tuscan cuisine. The class is conducted by a professional chef.
You will learn and prepare traditional Tuscan dishes, from the appetizer to the dessert, including fresh homemade pasta.
Depending on the season it will be possible to use the ingredients of our garden.
The lesson and preparation of the dishes last about 3-4 hours and will end with a lunch or dinner where you can enjoy the prepared food with a good glass of wine.
During the lesson, guests can prepare 3/4 dishes and take note of the new recipes.
The service must be booked at least a week in advance.
The menu will not always be the same, every time different recipes will be prepared:
- Bruschette (Toasted bread with various types of seasonings)
- Crostini
- Tomato soup
- Bread and/or
- Ribollita soup
- Panzanella
- Stew vegetables
- Tagliatelle (with various seasonings depending on the season)
- Steak, Tagliata,
- Rosticciane and / or meat of various types
- Cantucci, Tiramisù.

Podere la Specola is strategically located at the beginning of Chianti (where it is possible to organize food and wine tours), 30 minutes from Florence and Arezzo and 45 minutes from Siena and San Gimignano, and about 1 hour from Pisa and Lucca: all cities with exclusive colors and tastes, each with architectural features and landscape riches that make them unique.
It is not our interest (and ability) to describe what to see in these beautiful cities, but we would like to advise you to reach them by the most suitable method.
Florence and Arezzo can be easily reached by trains that leave every 20-30 minutes from Figline station (about 20-30 minutes of travel) that drop you off in the city center. To reach Siena, given that it is not well connected by public transport, we strongly advise you to go through the roads that cross the Chianti area: these are itineraries of 40/50 km but in the midst of the beauty of nature, there will absolutely be the chance to stop and take a souvenir photo or buy some local products.
To make the tour more comfortable and exciting, it is possible to organize, directly from the hotel, the transport by a private vehicle equipped with a driver and certified tour guide.
This gives you the opportunity to visit the various cities of art, the main museums, churches, and castles even in half a day, thus leaving time for a quiet breakfast and a pleasant refreshing swim in the pool on your return.
The itinerary, the duration, and the points of interest to visit during the trip can be decided directly in the structure according to your needs, interests, and time available.
To make the visit more interesting for children (and also for adults !!!), themed treasure hunts can be organized, always with certified tourist guides.
